Our Vision

Intent
At Faith Primary Academy, the intent for Physical Education (PE) is deeply rooted in promoting the physical, social and emotional well-being of all pupils. Our curriculum is carefully designed to ensure that every child develops a lifelong love for physical activity and understands the importance of leading a healthy lifestyle. Here at Faith Primary Academy we aim to provide a broad and balanced PE curriculum that caters to the needs and interests of all pupils, including those with diverse backgrounds and abilities. Furthermore, our intent is to instil key values such as teamwork, resilience, and respect through PE lessons, fostering holistic development beyond just physical skills.

Implementation
The implementation of the PE curriculum at Faith Primary Academy is characterised by a rigorous and well-structured approach that guarantees high-quality teaching and learning experiences for all pupils. Our sports and learning coach, Mr Gibson is highly skilled and enthusiastic about delivering engaging and inclusive PE lessons that cater to individual needs and abilities. The use of a variety of teaching methods and resources ensures that lessons are dynamic, challenging, and meaningful. Moreover, extracurricular sports clubs and opportunities for competitive sports are provided to enrich the PE experience and encourage pupils to excel and enjoy physical activities outside of curriculum time. We also place a strong emphasis on promoting a positive attitude towards health and fitness, with lessons integrating elements of nutrition, mental well-being, and personal fitness goals.

Impact
The impact of outstanding PE provision here at Faith Primary Academy is evident in the holistic development and positive outcomes achieved by pupils. Through engaging in regular physical activity, pupils demonstrate improved physical fitness, coordination, and confidence. They also develop essential life skills such as teamwork, leadership, and resilience, which positively impact their overall well-being and academic achievement. At Faith Primary Academy, we monitor and evaluate the impact of its PE provision through regular assessments, feedback mechanisms, and tracking of pupils’ progress. Furthermore, our school celebrates and showcases pupils’ achievements in PE through daily sports games, after school clubs and sports days, fostering a culture of pride and motivation among pupils. Ultimately, the impact of outstanding PE provision at our school extends beyond the school gates, empowering pupils to lead active and healthy lives within their communities and beyond.
