What is Phonics?
Phonics is a way of teaching children to read and write by matching the sounds of spoken English to individual or groups of letters.
At Faith Primary Academy, we believe that Phonics should be ‘hands on’ and fun in order to encourage your child to develop a positive relationship with reading and writing.
We follow the Read Write Inc programme of Phonics.

Here are the spelling words your child should know by the end of year 2 along with the first 100 High Frequency words and the next 200 High Frequency words.
You can support your child at home by helping them to learn to read and spell these words.
