Week 1- The Hungry Caterpillar

Hello Nursery,

 

Below is an activity grid with some suggested activities that you can do at home at your own pace.

Friday 8th October- Creative

Can you make a paper chain caterpillar? 

 

You will need: 

A piece of paper cut into strips

A green and red colouring pencil, pen or crayon 

A circle for your caterpillar face

Glue, sellotape, stapler (something to stick your strips together)

 

Method:

1. Cut out your paper into strips with your grown ups help

2. Colour them in using your green colour.

3. Join the first strip together using glue or sellotape.

4. Thread the net strip through the first one and join in together. 

5. Continue doing step 4 until you've used all your strips. 

6. Decorate your caterpillars face and stick it on the front. 

7. Upload a picture of your caterpillar onto Tapestry! It would be great to see your creations.

The Hungry caterpillar feels much better when he has a healthy snack- a green leaf. It's important that we eat a healthy, balanced diet. Can you help prepare a fun healthy snack today? Here are some ideas to try! Click on the pictures to see them in more detail. I would love to see your finished masterpieces you can upload them to Tapestry!

 

Thursday 7th January- Shape, Space and measure

Take a look at these repeating patterns.

Can you talk to your grown up about what you can see?

Can you say the pattern together? e.g yellow, blue, yellow, blue

 

 

Can you create your own repeating pattern?

Remember you can upload it to Tapestry so we can see your finished work!

 

You will need:

2 groups of objects

or

2 coloured pencils/pens/crayons to draw with

Can you go on a number hunt around your house like I have to see how many different numbers you can spot?
