Reception

Our teacher is Miss Thomas and our

Teaching Assistant is Miss Collins

This is where children start their exciting journey at Faith. Our priority is providing a happy, safe and inclusive environment for all of our children to enjoy coming in to everyday! We provide a broad and balanced curriculum which gives children opportunities to learn indoors and outdoors everyday.

Summer 2

What an exciting half term we have planned for Reception! We will be learning about all the different people in our lives that help us! We will be looking at doctors and nurses, vets, firefighters, police officers, hairdressers and the postal service workers. In our last half term together we will be exploring number bonds to 10 in Number and will be continuing to develop our phonics skills to improve our reading and writing.

Summer 1

Reception have had lots of fun exploring the theme pirates and dinosaurs through our class text 'Captain Flinn and Pirate Dinosaurs'. We are exploring fossils and learning lots of interesting facts about dinosaurs including a huge list of dinosaur names! We have been creative and have made our own class pirate ship and have made secret pirate notes to hide in a treasure chest!

This term children will be exploring the theme of mini-beasts! They will be using their investigation skills to find and group different types of creatures. We will be looking at the life cycle of butterflies and will even be caring for our very own caterpillars. Children will continue to develop their phonics skills through RWI lessons.
