Welcome to Love
Our topic this half term is toys. We are going to look at popular toys from when our parents and grandparents were children, different toys around the world and how toys are made! Hopefully we will be able to go to a special toy workshop and exhibit at the Museum of Liverpool.
In maths we will be looking at shape, space and measure. We will also be learning all about money and opening our own toy shop! In English we will be writing instructions for different toys/games and practicing our recount skills. We are learning to use exclamation marks, suffixes and continuing our super sentence writing. We will be doing lots of phonics in preparation for our Summer Phonics Challenge.
For this half term, our science focus will be on plants. We will be naming common plants, talking about the structure of a plant and learning how to grow and take care of our own plants. Also, we are thinking about and researching some famous scientists.
On our page you will be able to see pictures and captions of just some of the exciting things we do in year one!
Notes for parents:
Please endeavour to read every night with your child, ensure they complete spelling practice/homework and keep practicing phonics!
Thank you for your continued support,
Miss Corrin and Miss Collins.
